Smt. Debashmita Chattopadhyay Banerjee belongs to the 2013 Civil service batch.
She heads the first anti child trafficking initiative of dedicated anti-trafficking RPF personnel over Railway stations under 'Operation Nanhe Faristeh' under which over 4000 children have been rescued from the clutches of trafficking over South Western Zone of Railways and thousands more rescued who were lost or runaway.

Under Operation Nanhe Faristeh, RPF SWR has cracked hundreds of live kidnapping cases, cases of child prostitution, bonded labour, child labour and organ trade.

She has been the key implementor of Face recognition tech in Indian Railways after a successful Pilot project entrusted by Railway Board New Delhi.

She has been awarded with National award of Ministry of Railways in 2019, FICCI ( Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce) SMART Policing award 2019, Skoch Governance Order of Merit in 2021, DG/RPF's Insignia medal in 2018 and eight commendations from Director General RPF in her eight years of service for Anti Human trafficking Operations, Child rescue, women security, crime detection and implementation of mass technology initiatives like Face Recognition Software over Indian Railways.

She has delivered many lectures on human trafficking, child rescue initiatives of RPF and Role of Railways in various organizations including Sardar Vallabhhai Patel, National Police Academy , Hyderabad, Chief Secretary's Seminar on Bonded Labour and Human trafficking, Maharashtra Police Academy Nashik among others.
